My daughter has been begging for a blackberry. I see their are a lot of new blackberry's out there. I'm looking into the blackberry storm for her. What I don't like is that you need an e-mail plan along with the cell phone plan.
Anyone know how costly this is?

If your daughter is young I would say skip it. The email plan I feel is valuable for those of us working at all hours. It definitely makes the plan more expensive.

I heard the internet access plan was a little pricey, especially for a child. Of course, I am assuming your daughter isn't over 16.
I heard that Disney makes cell phones that have very effective parental controls!

I have a Blackberry Storm from AT&T and found that I didn't need to get an e-mail or internet plan. I love my phone and, even more, loved the fact that I didn't need to get an internet plan that I would never use.

Well, just my opinion, but isn't it a bit too pricey and unsuitable for a young girl to use blackberry? Its function is suited for business professionals, mostly the techy ones. But well, just want to offer my views...

If you want to purchase an expensive phone for her then I would personally go for either the Iphone or the new Google phone (G1 Phone). I do agree however with other posters that you should reconsider purchasing such an expensive phone for a child.

I'm a bit cheap so a Blackberry costs more than I care to spend. The features I really wanted in a phone were pretty basic. The phone (obviously), a camera, bluetooth capable and an MP3 player. My husband and I settled on the Samsung Juke and love it! Now I can go to the gym and listen to my music and not miss a beat when a call comes in.
